New 8.33 Radio retro-fit funding opportunity
16-01-2018 15:36:21 - Funding possibilities
As part of the European Commission Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA), the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is a key EU funding instrument to promote growth, jobs and competitiveness through targeted infrastructure investment at European level. Its transport component is the funding instrument to realise European transport infrastructure policy. It aims at supporting investments in building new transport infrastructure in Europe or rehabilitating and upgrading the existing one.
Having in view the equipage dead-lines set up by the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1079/2012, and acknowledging the unsuccessful General Aviation application for EU funding in 2017, within this context, in 2018, a significant amount of EU funds have become again available with priority for General Aviation aircraft radio 8.33 kHz capability upgrade.
To access these funds and make them available to the General Aviation community, the Network Manager 8.33 Project is supporting the establishment of a General Aviation consortium in collaboration with several European associations, aero clubs and local organizations.
If the application is successful, a refund of at least 20% will ease the financial burden for all general aviation aircraft and aerodromes.
For more information regarding the funding, all interested GA aircraft owners, pilots and Aero Clubs of all aircraft registered or owners based within the EU Member States countries (plus Norway and Switzerland) are invited to visit the following websites:
For a better coordination, interested organisations and aircraft owners are invited to express their interest in the funding opportunity through the contact form available on this website:
Please note the dead-line for submitting the application to the CEF is April 12th 2018.
